World premiere of Christopher Theofanidis's immersive opera, loosely based on Hermann Hesse's novel Siddhartha. Performed at the Aspen Music Festival's iconic Klein Music Tent with Robert Spano conducting.

“In the fury of most righteous wrath!” These are the words you’ll hear set by Vivaldi in this concert of Italian baroque fervor and passion from both the Venetian and Neapolitan styles. Vibrant soprano Maya Kherani returns to Philharmonia as a muse, singing two stories of abandonment and heartbreak through the zealous music of Handel and Marcello, accompanied by both furious and tender music for strings. Václav Luks conducts.

Conductor Patrick Quigley leads a program featuring Charpentier’s Prelude from Te Deum (ed. Quigley), Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate, Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 4, and excerpts from Handel’s Messiah. Features Maya Kherani (soprano), James Reese (tenor), and the Handel Choir of Baltimore.
